Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City Powcharoen Somchai said that small and medium enterprises in Thailand should invest in the printing industry of Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, now that the Vietnam government allows foreigners to own 100% of the capital in this sector.

Mr Somchai was quoted by the Bangkok Post newspaper said that although Vietnam has not had much experience in the field of printing but at this recent demand has been boosted by the consumption of the middle class moved up. 

He added that "the advertising industry began to take off in Vietnam, and this market has great potential due to spending of the young is increasing."

Mr Somchai also said that Vietnam's economy is rising and will continue to grow at a rate of from about 5% to 6-7% by the end of this year.

According to the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam despite the implementation of policies to encourage foreign investment in the print industry, but the Thai investors still challenging because of the language barrier problems and office work.

The joint venture with Vietnam investors will bring advantages for the Thai business advantages for consumers access and easy to get investment business license, but has to give others a voice in business decisions.

Thai businesses should take the lead in that field access before market saturation. There are a number of Japanese companies to invest in Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City and they want to hire Thailand but at the moment there are only two Thai companies there.

Thai consumer products are quite popular in Vietnam due to competitive pricing compared to the products of China.
In addition, it is noteworthy that although Vietnam is capable of producing similar goods, but people still prefer to buy Thai products.
